The EBMRF is dedicated to finding a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa by funding the best cutting edge and innovative research and seeking out new researchers and scientists at America’s top institutions.

We have made great strides over the years in developments of new treatments, and raised nearly $10 million, but our fight is far from over. It’s why we are urgently working on all fronts to support and fund these breakthroughs in research as a means of accelerating the delivery of these treatments to patients and to the marketplace. Through our ongoing joint funding with EB Research Partnership of individual research studies and clinical trials at acclaimed Universities, 21 EB Clinical Research Consortium (EBCRC) sites and through our annual fundraisers, we are committed to funding a cure and successful treatments for EB.

Grants are evaluated and once approved, are funded on a 1 year basis, and are subject to project milestones. Multi-year grants are reviewed annually and evaluated on their progress and our available funding. All grants include a 5% limit on indirect costs.

Our funding takes a proactive business minded approach to curing EB.  Collaborators and research institutions, whenever feasible, are encouraged to adopt our venture philanthropy model that seeks to multiply original donor contributions for further reinvestment into research. We spend research dollars efficiently, harnessing our efforts and joining forces with others in the field.
